You’ll probably visit a number of homes
before making a purchase decision.
You’ll make notes, take photos, and
gather property brochures on each. At
day’s end, you’ll have an armload of
information, and risk collapse under the
weight of “analysis paralysis.”
Picking the right home is a big decision
- or is it? Here’s a simple way to make
your home decision instead of sifting
through papers, notes, and your
memory trying to remember each and
every home. Make small decisions - two
homes at a time.
Begin by taking a close look at the first
home. Ask questions. Think about its
suitability. Now, leave and go to the next
home. Do the same analysis and ask the
same questions - then ask yourselves “If
we had to buy one of the first two
homes we’ve seen, which would we
choose?” Forget about homes you’ll see
later in the day. Pretend the first two are
your only choices.
You decide the first home is your choice.
Now, continue your tour and repeat the
process with the third home. When you
leave, compare it only with the first.
You’ve already eliminated the second
one, so delete it from consideration.
Your choice is either the first or the third
home.
Continue the process, limiting your
choice to only one of two homes. You’ll
be amazed at how easy the final decision
will be.
